The Route

After researching Australia through blogs, websites, guidebooks, family (you name it) we figured that actually too much information can really damper the idea of exploring. We didn't want to have any restraints on our travel, hoping to move on as and when we wish. This eventually gave us more freedom to experience and enjoy what that place has to offer.

So after debating where to start off our trip we decided for Sydney, and it was the best decision ever! We flew from Birmingham Airport, UK and landed in Sydney, after a very very swift change of flights in Dubai. Sydney for us was the best option as we were arriving in Australia in their 'winter' so we were effectively going to move north up the East coast wear the weather was more stable and basically warmer.

Since March our route has not changed that dramatically. Our original plan was to work in Brisbane, however the love we felt for Sydney was not there for Brisbane. So after a week of looking for work we made the quick decision of flying up to Cairns and then later after working we would travel back down to Brisbane so that we did not miss any places out.

However since being in Cairns now for a month, our itchy feet are making us want to move on...but we need to stick with it as we have grand ideas that need money, haha. After meeting well traveled people and seeing ourselves what there is here in Australia, it makes us begin to wonder what else we can see whilst being here this side of the world. And we both understand that we currently have places at Plymouth commencing in September however we feel that because we decided to travel so young, that uni can hold off a few years. This way we can grow as who we want to be and not be conformed by our courses that will make us think a certain way. By exploring the world now and meeting different people our minds will be broader and we feel the decisions will we later have to make will be a lot wiser.

So for now the Route has led us to Cairns and will then take us to Brisbane and then fingers crossed to New Zealand, Bali, South East Asia aaaaaand maybe China before we have to head home and face reality.
